Warsow (หรือชื่อเต็มว่า Warsow is Art of Respect and Sportmanship Over the Web) เป็นเกมแนว FPS ที่ถูกออกแบบมาโดยใช้ Qfusion 3D Engine (ดัดแปลงมาจาก Quake 2 GPL Engine อีกทีหนึ่ง)
ความพิเศษอยู่ในระบบอาวุธในเกม โดยอาวุธทุกชนิดจะมีกระสุนอยู่สองชนิดคือ Weak ที่มีมากับอาวุธอยู่แล้ว และ Strong (ในการยิงปืนจะใช้กระสุนแบบ Strong ให้หมดก่อน) ที่จะได้มาจากการเก็บ Ammo Pack ซึ่งมีความรุนแรงและความเร็วกระสุนต่างกัน โดยเป็นการเพิ่มแนวทางการเล่นนอกจากการควบคุม Armor และ Health Pack ใน Map ต่างๆ อีกทางหนึ่ง
พื้นฐานของการเล่นเกมนี้ที่เด่นชัดกว่าเกม FPS เกมอื่นๆ อยู่ที่ศิลปะและทักษะในการเคลื่อนไหวด้วยเทคนิคต่างๆ ที่มีความรวดเร็วและมีลูกเล่นแพรวพราว ซึ่งเป็นการรวมเทคนิคขั้นสูงต่างๆ จาก Quakeworld, Quake 3 Challenge Pro Mode Arena, Jet Set Radio, และ Speed Ball เข้าด้วยกันไม่ว่าจะเป็น Bunny Hopping (ที่มักจะรู้จักกันย่อๆ ว่า bhop), Strafe Jumping, Rocketjumping ฯลฯ (อาจจะเรียกได้ว่ามีทั้งหมดเลยก็เป็นได้) โดยวิธีการฝึกเทคนิคเหล่านี้สามารถหาได้ในเว็บของเกม (มี Video สอนด้วย)
Warsow is developped under the motto “by gamers for gamers” by a team coming from all kinds of gaming backgrounds. The base gameplay is focused around the art of movement – meaning moving, speed and tricks play a big part in the gameplay. Besides this, mapcontrol, aim, teamplay and fragging skills play their role too. For the movement we’ve basicly looked at four games: Quakeworld (legendary for it’s speed), Quake3 CPMA, Jet Set Radio and Speedball.
