The Premier League champions have been credited with a formal approach for the Belgium international although, so far, Everton have resisted the advances of their former manager.
However, a report from Goal.com claims Martinez is resigned to losing the player - who has a supposed price tag of £30 million - but remains confident of keeping another of his charges, Leighton Baines, from the clutches of Manchester United.
"Roberto is preparing to lose Fellaini next season but he thinks the team will be ready for it," a source close to the Everton boss is reported to have said.
"Baines is a slightly different matter as United don’t look like offering the money Everton want and the player won’t kick up a fuss."
Moyes' maiden summer as Manchester United manager has been one of frustration given the club's failures in the transfer market so far, having been unable to capture the midfielder of some repute he so desires.
