LONDON : A shocking news on Monday afternoon is all that stands between Arsène Wenger and Arsenal.
This shocking event is a clear response by Arsène Wenger to having resigned from Arsenal.
Arsène Wenger is a French football manager, in charge of Arsenal Football Club since 1996. He is the most successful manager in the history
of Arsenal in terms of trophies, but he is also the club's longest-serving manager in terms of matches played.
"Arsène Wenger have decided to resign as the manager of Arsenal Football Club today by his personal reason ,"
"Arsenal appointed Pat Rice to take charge of the Uefa Champions League team Wednesday". said a statement on the team's website.
Rice was assistant coach under Wenger, has since played a key role in helping the club to their success in the 1990s and 2000s, including
the Doubles of 1997-98 and 2001-02, and Arsenal's unbeaten League season of 2003-04. He holds the distinction (along with Bob Wilson) of
having taken part, as player or coach, in all three of Arsenal's Doubles.
The coach is 58, he has done more than Arsenal expected, but the next move is up to Peter Hill-Wood, the club's chairman, who has
reportedly already put a $1.2 million pre-contract in front of a younger, relatively unproven coach, Johan Cruyff.
